How to Participate

The prerequisite to the application process is demonstration of knowledge of the National Incident Management System (NIMS). This is accomplished by completing the FEMA Independent Studies courses 100, 200, 700 and 800 (these are available on-line at www.training.fema.gov).

If this sounds like what you are looking for, then please forward copies of your IS 100, 200, 700 and 800 certificates and your resume to our Administrative Officer Kevin Napp at kevin.napp@hhs.gov. Arrangements will then be made to discuss the application process.

Click here for the application. Please select Employment opportunities and select central region for the list of vacancies.

All interested individuals and applicants are encouraged to attend quarterly meetings and training opportunities. RN and EMS CEs are provided for both. Attendance allows you to become familiar with the membership, our operational procedures, and goals. Under the Calendar section you will find the yearly calendar posted for 2013. Meetings are held at IDTC in one of the UNM EMS Academy training rooms. Information regarding training exercises is emailed and posted on the website in a timely fashion. Feel free to contact any of the command staff listed for details.
