Biography

I was born and grew up in rural South Dakota. After medical school, I did my training in Emergency Medicine and Fellowship in Medical Toxicology in inner-city Detroit. I practiced in private practice in a leadership position before going back into academics when I moved to UNM.

Teaching Interests

  • Toxicology, techniques that improve audience participation, feedback, and active learning

Research Interests

  • Drugs of abuse and misuse, Toxicology, and Emergency Medicine.
