I was the clinical director of the UNM Hospital Emergency Department until 2003, when I became the medical director of Care One. Care One is a program that serves disadvantaged, high-risk patients. I serve as a mentor in the medical student Learning Communities program and I spend a significant amount of my time involved with medical student education. Additionally, I teach an undergraduate course every fall semester at UNM, as part of the First-Year Learning Community program.
