I grew up in Taylorsville, Utah.  Prior to entering medical school, I spent eight years as a warehouse worker for a freight salvage company in Salt Lake City.  My interest in medicine grew from a desire to participate in humanitarian work in developing countries.  Since then, I have been fortunate to travel to several countries in Africa and Latin America to help in various endeavors, including clinical work, research, and service projects.  I have learned a lot along the way, and I am very excited now to start the next chapter in my life: training in pediatric emergency medicine here in New Mexico.  For fun, I love spending time outdoors, especially hiking and camping.  I am also a big fan of sports and watching movies.
