Name: Bethany Glatz
Hometown: Bozeman, MT
Undergrad: Montana State University - Bozeman
Life before med school:I finished my undergraduate studies by studying abroad in Costa Rica and then spent several months in San Jose volunteering. After college, I worked for two years at several odd jobs including waitress, ranch hand, and organic farmer. Before starting medical school, I traveled from Mexico to Panama with my husband, Winston. Along the way we dove in Belize, hiked through the Guatemalan jungle, volunteered at a turtle conservation project in Costa Rica, and shared many bus rides with chickens and goats!
Med school: University of Washington
Worst/best job: In high school I spent a summer working in telemarketing. For forty hours a week, I sat at a desk making cold calls. It was brutal.
Hobbies: I love to be outside – camping, hiking with my dog, kayaking, and skiing (especially the uphill kind – cross country! ).
Favorite band:ZZ Top
Favorite movie: It's A Wonderful Life
Why Albuquerque: Great program with strong pediatric training, a diverse patient population, and it aligns with my desire to focus on community health
