Worst/best job: My worst job was working at Quiznos in high school when I would come home smelling like sandwiches every day. I still can't eat Quiznos.
My best job was definitely working as an EMT in LA County. Driving an ambulance with lights and sirens never gets old.
Hobbies: Snowboarding, Camping, Hiking, Backpacking, Traveling, Scuba Diving, Sailing, Brewing Beer, Martial Arts, Gardening, Cooking, Piano, Guitar.
Favorite band: Hard to pick a favorite- but I like Led Zeppelin, Rage Against the Machine, The Black Keys, Neil Young, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Sublime.
Favorite movie: Jurassic Park
Why Albuquerque: The people, the opportunities and the location. It was my only interview where I connected well with every single interviewer and felt that they were genuinely interested in learning more about me. The numerous opportunities in EMS, disaster, global health, wilderness/mountain medicine in addition to sick patients and heavy critical care experience was everything I could possibly want in Emergency Medicine training. Being able to do all of the above in a beautiful setting like Albuquerque allowing me to pursue my hobbies and maintain a healthy balance in my life made this the perfect choice for me.
Anything else interesting: When I was 16 years old, I traveled to Tokyo, Japan to compete in the World Championships in Wado-Ryu Karate.
