Class of 2017

Undergrad: UNM

Med School: UNM

Hometown: Cedar Crest, NM

Why Albuquerque: My home, my heart and my family is here (and I think the program and the people are amazing).

Life Before Med School: I worked all sorts of jobs during undergrad including bench work with Drosophila, selling furniture and bartending before getting my paramedic license. I worked as a paramedic both here in Albuquerque and Anchorage, Alaska before deciding that I wanted to go to medical school.

Hobbies: Knitting, sewing, hiking, camping, gardening, playing the guitar (I want to take up the violin), bird watching, cooking. I’ll try anything once.

Worst/Best job: Bartending was probably both worst and best at times. Kind of like National Geographic except you’re never sure whether you’re the predator or the prey.

Favorite Band: Too many to name- right now I’m loving Cory Brannan and Kishi Bashi. Old standbys are Ryan Adams, The Be Good Tanyas, Drive-By Truckers, and Yo Yo Ma.

Favorite Movie: The Adventures of Baron von Munchausen, Time Bandits

Anything else interesting: Not that I can think of right now.
