I am originally from Santa Fe, NM and am incredibly glad to have returned to the Land of Enchantment. My original interest in emergency medicine stems from having been involved in search and rescue and EMS from the age of 15 in our great state. I combined these interests, working as a backcountry ranger at Grand Canyon National Park after graduating from college. There the rangers provide the EMS, SAR, law enforcement and firefighting. I met my wife while attending PA school in Atlanta, where she was rotating at the Centers for Disease Control as a veterinary student. I am privileged to have been able to return to my home state (with a brief stint in community practice in Colorado) and work with the amazing attendings, residents, NP’s and PA’s here at UNM.
