BS EMS, MA Organizational Learning and Instructional Technology (OLIT)

I am a New Mexico native. I have been providing emergency care and teaching for over 40 years. I have worked in a wide range of settings including water safety, wilderness/search and rescue, disaster, large events, ground Emergency Medical Services (EMS), flight/critical care/neonatal transport medicine, human simulation, and (of course) EMS education. I began teaching part-time in the paramedic program at the UNM EMS Academy in 1989 and eventually moved into a full-time position there. I also worked at the UNM Health Sciences Center Human Simulation program for a number of years. Back at the EMS Academy full-time since 2013, I am the lead instructor for the online paramedic program and have developed additional online courses for initial, transition and bachelor’s degree programs. I am also a frequent presenter at local, state, regional, and national EMS and EMS educator conferences.
