Biography
A former paramedic and firefighter, Dr. Harrell made a crazy decision to return to school in his early 30s to pursue a career as an EM physician, and it was the best decision of his life. He received his EM training here at UNM and was fortunate to be able to stay for his EMS/Disaster/Tactical Fellowship and landed a great faculty appointment here as well. He says, “UNM has a great EMS group within the Department of Emergency Medicine, and I get to still practice in the street and the ED as part of clinical practice responsibilities.”
