Department of Emergency Medicine

Assistant Professor

Emergency Medicine

Undergrad: Brown University

Med School: UNM

Residency: UNM

I grew up in a Minnesota farming town, and left for the East Coast in the late 90s never to return. I spent ten in Providence, RI attending college and working in EMS and at the nation’s oldest psychiatric hospital. I moved to New Mexico in 2005 when my wife was admitted to UNM for a graduate degree in Ecology. I started UNM Med School two years later, and continued through to residency. In meantime, I have started running, picking bluegrass guitar, and raising two sons (Soren, age 5, and Ira, age 2). I enjoy backpacking with kids, travel, and coffee.
